Finding a therapist who you believe can help you, and one with whom you feel comfortable are two very important aspects of establishing a meaningful and therapeutic relationship. To facilitate your ability to choose the right therapist for yourself, I have a policy of not charging any out of pocket expenses for the initial session if, following our first session, you feel that you would like to continue your search for a therapist that might be a “better fit.” This affords you the opportunity to “shop around” and will not be under any obligation, financially or otherwise, to continue if you don’t feel comfortable after the end our first visit. If, on the other hand, you feel comfortable with our 1st session and would like to pursue therapy with me, you will be asked to pay any out of pocket expenses associated with this 1st visit.
My initial consultation fee is $195.00. The fee for all regular 50 minute sessions is $180.00. Sessions may be shorter for young adolescents or longer for family meetings. I ask that you pay at the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made. I accept checks or cash, but do not take credit cards. All payments should be made at the end of each session.
Because scheduling your appointment involves the advance reservation of time specifically for you, I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You should be aware that your insurance will not pay for a cancelled or missed appointment and you will then be responsible for my regular $180.00 fee. The only exception to this policy is if there is a medical emergency associated with you or your family.
